chatgpt User Base Shifts from Early Adopters to Mainstream, New Data Shows
Berlin – ChatGPT is rapidly transitioning from a tech enthusiast’s novelty to a tool embraced by a broader demographic, according to a new study by YouGov. The research reveals a user base increasingly representative of the general population in terms of gender and income, signaling a move beyond initial hype towards everyday utility.
The study indicates ChatGPT’s user base is becoming more balanced, with the proportion of female users rising and approaching parity with male users. Moreover, a significant 19 percent of chatgpt users come from households with a net income of 5,000 to less than 10,000 euros per month, compared to 12 percent in the total population – suggesting the technology is gaining traction among a wider range of economic backgrounds. This shift indicates ChatGPT is moving beyond early adopters and attracting a more mainstream audience.
Beyond demographics, the data highlights a high degree of tech affinity among ChatGPT users. Nearly 80 percent express interest in new technology products, services, and apps, substantially exceeding the 65 percent observed in the general population. This suggests users aren’t simply adopting ChatGPT, but are actively seeking and embracing digital innovation.
