Carnie Wilson Hospitalized Following Complications From Lap-Band removal Surgery
Carnie Wilson, the singer adn television personality, recently faced a health scare and was hospitalized due to complications following surgery to remove a lap-band she received over 15 years ago.Wilson shared the news with her followers via social media, expressing gratitude for the medical team and acknowledging a “new outlook on some health things.”
Wilson underwent the lap-band removal procedure hoping to improve her overall health, a journey she has openly discussed with the public for years. She previously told Fox News Digital in May that she maintains a “balance” with a healthy lifestyle, firmly stating her opposition to weight loss medications like Ozempic, citing concerns about potential side effects after a freind was hospitalized.
“I am just so, so lucky to have gotten through this, and it really put a new perspective on some health things for me,” Wilson said in a recent update. “I’m recovering and it’s going grate. I love you guys and appreciate if anybody had said any prayers, so thank you, on the mend.”
The lap-band procedure,a form of bariatric surgery, was once a popular weight-loss option involving the placement of an adjustable band around the stomach to restrict food intake. However, its use has declined in recent years due to concerns about long-term complications and the emergence of choice weight-loss treatments.
Wilson emphasized the importance of self-care and mindful eating, stating, “Eating healthier. It’s all about taking care of myself and I think that it’s connected, you know? What I put in my mouth makes a big difference. If I eat an apple, I feel better. If I eat sugar, I don’t feel good. So it really makes a difference. It’s how I take care of myself.”
