Local Students Celebrate Summer Graduates
STEUBENVILLE, OH – Area students recently completed their academic journeys, earning degrees from State University and the University of Maryland Global Campus during the Summer 2025 term. The achievements highlight the growing accessibility of higher education and the dedication of local residents pursuing advanced learning opportunities.
This summer’s graduating class represents a important step forward for these individuals and their families, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to contribute to the region’s workforce and economy. The degrees earned span a range of disciplines, from technical studies to nursing, demonstrating the diverse educational paths available to students.
State University recognized several local graduates, including jeffrey Ferl of Carrollton, who earned both an associate of arts degree in applied technical studies and a bachelor of arts degree in arts and sciences. Kimberly Wilson of Hammondsville received a bachelor of science degree in nursing, while abraham Zane of Mingo Junction completed an associate of arts degree in applied technical studies.
Further afield, Patrick J. Scott of Steubenville earned an associate of arts degree from the University of Maryland Global campus, joining a cohort of 3,800 students worldwide who completed their degrees this summer. University officials noted the global reach of the program and its commitment to providing accessible education.
