Calpe Gymnast Selected for National Talent Program
CALPE, Spain – November 15, 2025 – Sophie O’Reilly, a gymnast from Les marines gymnastics Club in Calpe, has been selected by the Valencian Gymnastics Federation to participate in the 2025 Talent Identification Day, organised by the Royal Spanish Gymnastics Federation. O’Reilly and her coach,aroa Pineda,travel to Madrid today,Saturday,November 15,to attend the event at the High Performance Center (CAR).
The call-up follows an remarkable season for O’Reilly, recognised for her dedication, consistency, and passion. Les Marines Gymnastics Club stated the selection is “a well-deserved recognition of the athlete’s tremendous effort and a great motivation to keep growing.”
The Talent Identification Day will bring together top gymnasts from the Valencian Community and other autonomous regions of Spain. The Les Marines Club expressed gratitude to the Valencian Gymnastics Federation (FGCV) for their trust in both O’Reilly and the club’s technical team.
Calpe is emerging as a growing centre for rhythmic gymnastics, with clubs like Les Marines fostering young talent through professional coaching and competition opportunities. Spain has a strong tradition in gymnastics,particularly rhythmic gymnastics,and talent identification programmes are crucial for developing future national and international competitors.
