Person charged in Connection with Series of Fires on Byåsen
Trondheim, Norway – Police have charged a suspect in connection with a string of ten fires that have plagued the Byåsen area of Trondheim since July, with the most recent occurring Wednesday night at kyvatnet Nature kindergarten. Authorities are continuing their investigation and believe several of the fires may be linked.
The fires have primarily targeted schools and kindergartens, causing significant concern among residents. The first blaze occurred at Sverresborg kindergarten, resulting in extensive damage. Days later, Eberg School was also targeted. Police emphasize they are taking the situation seriously and are working to determine the full extent of the connection between the incidents.
“We understand well that the fires have created concern for the inhabitants of the immediate area, and we emphasize that we take this seriously and that the investigation continues to get to the bottom of the cases,” stated police representative Østergård. “This creates a lot of fear.Fire foundation is serious.”
The ongoing investigation includes gathering information, reviewing digital devices, and questioning the accused. Police are also requesting any tips from the public related to the fires.
