Broncos Add Wide Receiver Elijah Moore to practice Squad
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – The denver Broncos announced Monday they have signed wide receiver Elijah Moore to their practice squad. The move adds depth to a position group currently featuring Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant, marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, and Lil’Jordan Humphrey on the active roster.
Moore,a fourth-year NFL player, became available after being waived by the Buffalo Bills earlier this month to create space for veteran receiver Brandin Cooks. He totaled nine receptions for 112 yards in nine games with Buffalo this season. Denver will need to make a corresponding roster move to accommodate Moore, with michael Bandy, A.T.Perry, or Kyrese Rowan possibly being released from the practice squad. Rowan is considered the most likely candidate for release.
Drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft out of Ole Miss,Moore has accumulated 200 receptions for 2,162 yards and nine touchdowns across his four seasons. He spent two years with the Jets before being traded to the Cleveland Browns, where he played for another two seasons.
Moore’s signing provides the broncos with a potentially valuable asset who could be elevated to the 53-man roster later in the season should he perform well in practice.
