Brescia to Host Third “Silvana Tirini Bonometti” International Festival
Brescia, Italy – october 15, 2025 – The city of Brescia will inaugurate the 3rd International Festival ”Silvana Tirini Bonometti” on Wednesday, October 22nd, at 11:30 AM in the church of San Gaetano (Via Antonio Callegari, 6). the festival, a tribute to the cultural patronage of Silvana Tirini Bonometti, promises a series of five concerts featuring internationally acclaimed musicians.
Dedicated to the memory of Silvana Tirini Bonometti of Rezzate, a respected figure known for her commitment to the arts, the festival is organized by OMR - Officine Meccaniche Rezzatesi, the automotive company owned by her children. The festival aims to honor her legacy and continue her dedication to cultural enrichment within the region. This year’s program showcases a diverse range of musical pairings – organ and piano, organ and cornet, and harpsichord duos – performed across Brescia’s historic churches and the Sanctuary of Valverde di Rezzato.
The festival will open with a performance by English scholar Christopher Stembridge, a leading expert in ancient musical repertoire. The second concert will feature Gerardo chimini on organ and Vittorio Bresciani on piano, performing works exclusively by Franz Liszt, including his Totentanz. A subsequent performance at the Carmine church will showcase organist Nicola Lamon and cornet player David brutti, specializing in Renaissance music.
Returning for his third consecutive year, maestro Ton Koopman will perform a unique harpsichord duo with his wife, Tini Mathot, at the church of Sant’Agata. The festival will conclude with organist Andrea Marcon performing on the historic G. Bonatti organ (1713) at the Sanctuary of Valverde in Rezzato. Two of the five events will be held at the Sanctuary of Valverde, utilizing the famed Bonatti organ, while the remaining three will take place in the city’s churches of San Gaetano, Carmine, and Sant’Agata.
