Botev Plovdiv Owner Calls for Emergency Meeting Amidst Club Division
Plovdiv,Bulgaria – Ilian Filipov, owner of Bulgarian First League football club Botev Plovdiv, has called for an emergency meeting with key supporters’ groups and club representatives, stating “it can’t go on” as internal divisions threaten the team’s progress. The declaration follows a period of three months marked by efforts to stabilize the historically important club, with Filipov acknowledging the lack of desired results on the field and escalating tensions off it.
The meeting, scheduled for Thursday, September 18th, at 7:00 pm at Hristo Botev stadium, aims to unite factions including United factions Bultras, the Botev Plovdiv supporters club, Fan-club Botev 1912, PFC Botev, and the “Yellow and Black” Foundation. This move comes as Filipov and his team recognize the critical need for unity between the club and its fanbase, emphasizing that a fractured relationship jeopardizes Botev Plovdiv’s future.
In a message released through Botev’s official channels, filipov stated, “Continuous declarations and division bring additional tension into the already tough situation.” He continued, “we are all aware that if a team and audience are not one – nothing good is waiting for us.”
Acknowledging potential shortcomings,Filipov added,”Me and my team make mistakes,as all people make one,but when there is a mistake, there is forgiveness.” He urged all parties to focus on a “common goal for the better future of Botev Plovdiv,” calling for an end to divisive rhetoric and a renewed commitment to the club’s success.
