Bellevigne-les-Châteaux‘s Petites Canailles leisure center is experiencing a surge in demand this autumn, operating at full capacity for the current two-week school holiday period. The program offers a diverse range of activities for local children, from creative workshops to community outreach.
The center is accommodating sixty children total, split into two age groups: thirty youngsters aged 3-6 and thirty aged 6-11. Each group benefits from the supervision of four dedicated facilitators. While staffing is generally robust, director Celia Lucidi noted slight reductions on two specific days during the period. “There are onyl two days where there are a little less staff,” she explained.
A central theme of the vacation program is imaginary animals, inspiring numerous activities designed to spark creativity. Children will also have the opportunity to explore local history with a planned excursion to Fontevraud Abbey. Further enriching the schedule are introductory karate lessons and a Halloween-themed evening specifically for 8-11 year olds.
Looking ahead, the center has partnered with the Saint Cyr-en-Bourg medical center to host nutrition workshops on October 27th and 30th, geared towards children aged 6-11. A community-focused event is also planned for October 29th, where a small group will visit the croix-Verte nursing home in Saumur to celebrate Halloween with residents. The program culminates in a special Halloween day festivity on October 31st.
