ARD Reporter’s Interview with David Raum Reveals On-Air Error
Sinsheim – A live interview with German national team player David Raum took an unexpected turn Tuesday, revealing an on-air error by ARD reporter Lea Wagner.During a post-match discussion following Germany’s qualifying game against Luxembourg, Wagner mistakenly stated Raum had made his Bundesliga debut in Sinsheim’s pre-Zero Arena.
Raum quickly and politely corrected Wagner, stating his Bundesliga debut occurred away from home in August 2021 with TSG Hoffenheim against Augsburg, a match they won 4-0. Wagner acknowledged teh mistake, admitting with some embarrassment that Raum was “probably right.” The incident highlights the challenges of live broadcasting and the importance of factual accuracy in sports reporting.
Raum scored the opening goal in the 12th minute against Luxembourg, contributing to germany’s victory. While celebrating the goal and his continued success with the national team,the conversation shifted to his career milestones.
