Apple‍ Unveils Watch Series ⁣11 with Blood Pressure Monitoring, Enhanced Sleep Tracking

CUPERTINO, CA – ⁣September 12, ​2024 ‍ – Apple⁤ today announced‌ its latest⁣ lineup of⁢ Apple ⁣Watches, headlined by the Series 11, which introduces hypertension awareness features and a ⁤complete new sleep score. Alongside the series 11, Apple also revealed the ​Watch SE ‌3 and the rugged Watch Ultra 3, expanding its wearable offerings‌ with updated technology and ⁤health ⁢capabilities.

The Watch ‍Series 11 is Apple’s thinnest smartwatch to date, featuring Ion-X glass ​with a ceramic coating-claimed to be twice as durable as the previous generation’s material. Available in 42mm and 46mm ⁣sizes with aluminum and titanium casings, the Series 11’s key innovation is its ⁣pending-FDA-clearance hypertension ‌awareness‍ feature, designed to alert users to potential blood pressure irregularities. A​ new sleep score, ⁤ranging from 0 to 100, assesses ⁤nightly rest based on duration, ⁤consistency, sleep⁣ stages, and wakeups. Continuous heart rate and blood oxygen tracking are also included, supported by improved 24-hour battery life. ‍Aluminum models will come in ‍Jet Black, Silver, Rose Gold,⁢ and Space Grey, while titanium variants are offered in Natural Titanium, Gold, and‌ Slate. Pricing starts at $399 for the 42mm aluminum version⁣ and $429 for ⁣the 46mm model,with ‍cellular options adding‍ $100⁢ to the cost.

The more affordable Watch SE 3‌ gains an Always-On⁢ Display, the S10 chip from ‍last​ year’s models, and optional 5G support.‍ it also incorporates the new⁣ sleep score tool and 24/7 health monitoring. Available⁤ in 40mm and 44mm sizes, the SE⁢ 3 introduces double-tap and wrist⁢ flick gestures, alongside fast charging that delivers eight hours of usage from a 15-minute charge. The Watch SE 3 is‍ available in starlight and⁢ Midnight colors,⁣ starting ​at $249, with deliveries scheduled for September 19.

Rounding out the lineup, the Watch Ultra ​3 features an LTPO 3.0 OLED display‌ for improved brightness ​and slimmer bezels, optional 5G connectivity, and enhanced satellite features for Emergency SOS, messaging,‌ and location sharing.​ Like the Series 11, it includes hypertension awareness​ and the new sleep ​score.⁤ Apple ⁢has also increased battery life to 42‍ hours-the longest ever ‍for an Apple Watch. The⁢ Ultra ​3 is available in Black Titanium and natural Titanium finishes, starting at ‍$799, with deliveries also beginning on September 19.
