Moycullen, Galway – anne Madden (née Quinn), a beloved resident of Loughwell, Moycullen, Galway, and formerly of Fintown, Donegal, has passed away peacefully at home following a long illness. Her death marks a loss for the communities in both Galway and Donegal.
Mrs. Madden is remembered by her family as a woman who faced her illness with remarkable bravery. She died surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
Born Paddy and Nellie Quinn, Anne was predeceased by her parents, and her brother Peadar Quinn, and her son-in-law Robert Seuferer. She is survived by her husband noel, her daughters Mary, Claire, and Caroline, her sons Raymond, Noel and Enda, daughters-in-law Brid, Yasmina and Ronja, sons-in-law Declan and Phillip, and her nine grandchildren: Ailbhe, Niall, Declan, Keelyn, Cora, Aurelia, Elias, Malachy and Maya. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Quinn (Laghey), Marjorie Browne (New york), her brothers John Quinn (Ardara) and Patsy Quinn (Birchill), as well as her extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing will take place in Aiséirí Funeral Home, Moycullen, Co. Galway (H91Y54A) on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, from 5pm until 7pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 12 noon in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Moycullen, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers,the family requests donations be made to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). Thay have expressed their deep gratitude to the Galway Hospice, the Irish Motor Neuron Association, her public health nurses, and carers for the exceptional care and support provided to Anne.
