Title: Alivia Eikenberg Earns All-Big Sky First Team Honors

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland State⁤ freshman Alivia ‍Eikenberg has been named to the Big Sky Conference Volleyball all-Conference First‍ Team, the⁣ league announced ⁢today.Eikenberg is the first Viking freshman to earn First ⁤Team honors since ⁤Whitney Phillips in 2010.

Eikenberg’s selection caps a remarkable debut season for the outside hitter, who quickly ‌established herself as one of the⁤ Big Sky’s most dominant offensive⁢ threats. ⁢She recorded 10+ ⁣kills ​in ‍all 14 Big Sky⁣ matches she played, and 11 of her 15 double-doubles came during⁣ conference play. Eikenberg⁢ finished the ⁣season with 378 ​total kills and 416.0 points, both single-season⁤ freshman records for Portland‍ state.

The freshman⁤ averaged 3.82 kills per set across⁤ all matches, ranking fourth among all NCAA Division I freshmen. Eikenberg posted 21 ‍matches with ‌10+ kills⁢ and four ‌with 20+, including a career-high 28 kills against Eastern Washington on October 23 – the most by a Viking as Phillips’ 28-kill performance against Montana State ⁢on September 17, 2010. She concluded ‌the season just one double-double shy of the freshman record of 16, set in 2004.

Eikenberg is joined on ⁣the All-Conference ​First⁣ Team ⁢by teammates from Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Sacramento​ State, and Weber State.
