Young Duo Claims Australia Open Title: Raymond/Nikolaus Defeat Fajar/Fikri in Thrilling MenS Doubles Final
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin have emerged victorious in the all-Indonesian Men’s Doubles final at the Australia Open 2025, overcoming seasoned veterans Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in a hard-fought three-game match. The rising stars secured the title with a 20-22, 21-10, 21-18 victory, marking a significant milestone in their careers.
The match began with Fajar/Fikri initially controlling the pace, but Raymond/Nikolaus mounted a fierce comeback, claiming a lead of 15-14 with a six-point streak. the lead exchanged hands several times, with Fajar/Fikri reaching game point first, only for Raymond/Nikolaus to rally and ultimately clinch the first game 22-20.
Fajar/Fikri responded strongly in the second game, establishing an 11-8 lead at the interval and extending it to a decisive 21-10 win, forcing a third and final game.
