A three-year-old‌ boy from India has become the youngest player ever to achieve a FIDE (Fédération ⁣Internationale des Échecs) ranking, the international governing body for chess.Kushwaha, whose full name was not instantly‍ available, ⁤earned ‌the rating after‌ defeating three rated players in competitions⁢ held across his state ‍and elsewhere in India.

“It’s a matter of great pride and honour for us that our son has become the youngest chess⁤ player in the world to achieve a ​FIDE ranking,” Kushwaha’s father, Siddharth ⁣Singh, told ETV Bharat. His parents aspire for him to become a grandmaster.The achievement highlights India’s growing prominence in ⁤the world of competitive chess, a nation already celebrated for⁤ producing grandmasters like Viswanathan Anand,⁢ a five-time World Cup winner, and the ​recently crowned ‌World Champion, Gukesh Dommaraju.

India has a thriving chess culture and consistently ranks among the top nations in the sport, ⁣boasting a large and dedicated‌ player base.
