Three Donegal Restaurants Win Tripadvisor Best of the Best 2026 Awards
Three Donegal establishments secured spots in Tripadvisor’s 2026 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best awards, representing fewer than one per cent of the platform’s eight million global listings. No. 9 Market Square in Letterkenny, The Singing Pub in Downings, and The Narrow Quarter Bistro and Coffee House in Kerrykeel all earned national recognition in the rankings.
Letterkenny Fine Dining Recognition
No. 9 Market Square was ranked number six in the Fine Dining category. For No. 9 owner, Chef Brian McMonagle, the ranking marked a proud moment for the restaurant in its second year in business and for Letterkenny’s food scene.
“I’m humbled and very proud to have Letterkenny up there with the best and among the country’s finest establishments.”
Brian said, adding that he was grateful to his staff, customers and suppliers.
Tripadvisor described No. 9 Market Square as featuring a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels instantly relaxing,
while highlighting its fresh, locally sourced ingredients, presentation, friendly service, and a dynamic menu
where diners rave about the mains and desserts.
The Singing Pub and Narrow Quarter Bistro Rank Well
The Singing Pub in Downings took number 10 in the Hidden Gems category. Tripadvisor praised the venue for blending a laid-back vibe with a genuinely welcoming staff in a pretty spot,
alongside its wide menu of freshly cooked classics, generous portions and fair prices.
Meanwhile, The Narrow Quarter Bistro and Coffee House in Kerrykeel was placed 19th in the Casual Dining category. Described as a delightful spot,
it serves Irish and European favourites including mussels, chowder and burgers in a cosy café atmosphere. The venue’s ambience and attention to detail were singled out, with the bistro noted as a must-visit for top-notch food and a laid-back vibe.
The Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best title serves as Tripadvisor’s highest level of recognition, celebrating businesses that receive a high volume of outstanding reviews and opinions over a 12-month period.
