Markets Await RBI Decision on Interest Rates
All eyes remained fixed on the RBI MPC decision, which was scheduled to be announced at 10 AM. Ahead of the outcome, most market participants expected that the Reserve Bank of India was set to raise rates for the first time in nearly four years as inflation increased and the rupee neared a record low.

Prior to the market opening on Wednesday, the benchmark yield on the 10-year India bond began the session unchanged at 7.20 per cent as traders awaited the meeting. Similarly, the rupee opened steady at 96.42 against the US dollar.
