warsaw,Poland – CD Projekt Red confirmed today that teh planned release of cross-platform mod support for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been postponed until 2026. The update, initially slated for release later this year, will allow players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S to utilize the same fan-created modifications.

The delay impacts a dedicated player base eager to expand their Witcher 3 experience with community-developed content across all platforms. CD Projekt Red acknowledged the setback in a statement posted on Twitter and through official channels, citing unforeseen complexities in implementation. This feature aims to revitalize the critically acclaimed RPG, perhaps drawing players back to the Continent with a renewed and customizable experience.

“We originally planned to introduce cross-platform mod support for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year, but the rollout is now shifting to 2026,” the studio announced. “We apologize for the delay and will share more details as we get closer to the release.”

The studio is simultaneously developing the next installment in The Witcher series, codenamed “Polaris,” but remains committed to supporting its flagship title.
