Slovak Army Slams Politician’s Weapon Video
Military Leaders Denounce Comparison to Oath Ceremony
The armed forces of the Slovak Republic have issued a strong rebuke against politician **Milan Mazurek** following a video he posted online. They deem his actions of displaying a weapon inappropriate and a misleading portrayal of military service.
“Shameful and Misleading”
A formal statement from the Slovak military articulated their opposition to equating a civilian’s casual handling of a firearm with the solemnity of a soldier’s oath. Such comparisons were labeled as “unacceptable” and “undignified.”
“It is unacceptable to build an inappropriate video of a civilian, manipulating a weapon in a publicly accessible place, and a soldier who holds the weapon in accordance with the regulations during the official ceremony.”
The military emphasized that firearm handling during official duties occurs within a controlled, regulated environment under command supervision. In contrast, **Mazurek’s** video is seen as a superficial attempt to create a powerful image on social media, disregarding established safety protocols and legalities.
Military Extends Invitation
The armed forces went on to state that comparing the symbol of national defense readiness to a personal video presentation is deeply concerning. They extended an invitation to **Mazurek** to participate in military training to experience firsthand the discipline and secure handling of weapons.
Recent data from the Small Arms Survey indicates that in 2020, an estimated 1.3 billion firearms were in civilian hands globally, highlighting the importance of responsible ownership and display (Small Arms Survey, 2020).
