‘Seven to Eight’ Paused: TF1 Benches Audrey Crespo-Mara for World Cup Qualifier
Viewers of TF1’s popular news magazine Seven to Eight will find a break in their Sunday routine, as the program has been temporarily removed from the schedule. The decision by the network to prioritize live sports coverage means Audrey Crespo-Mara will be absent from the late afternoon slot for at least one week.
TF1 has opted to broadcast the Azerbaijan / France World Cup qualifying match in the program’s usual time slot. Despite France already securing qualification following a 4-0 victory over Ukraine, the channel is dedicating the “strategic box” to the sporting event. This interruption comes amidst a period of personal adjustment for Crespo-Mara, following the july 14, 2025, death of her husband, Thierry ardisson.
Crespo-Mara and Ardisson shared a relationship spanning more than fifteen years, beginning with a “thunderbolt” meeting in 2009 at LCI. The couple frequently spoke of their deep connection, with Crespo-Mara telling Gala magazine, “We are all the time each other…much more time together than a couple who have an office life.” Ardisson passed away after battling liver cancer.
TF1 confirmed Seven to Eight will return to its regular 5:15 p.m. timeslot next Sunday. The network routinely adjusts its programming to accommodate broadcasts of French national team matches, demonstrating the importance of international competitions to the channel.
