Authorities are investigating a credible threat that prompted a temporary evacuation of the Embassy Suites by Hilton St.Charles hotel in St. Charles, Missouri, on Friday evening. The situation stemmed from online posts referencing a planned gathering of individuals associated with the far-right “Patriot Front” group.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has directed the Illinois State Police to heighten security measures in response to the situation. the governor’s office confirmed the directive was issued to ensure public safety.
Governor Pritzker stated on X, “Threats of violence will be investigated and those responsible will be held accountable.”
The St.Charles Police Department confirmed that guests have been allowed to return to the hotel, located at 1 Convention Center Plaza, and the investigation remains active. the initial alert regarding a potential threat was received around 8:00 PM Central Time.
