‘Tesla Takedown’ protestors have a new target: Elon Musk’s Tesla Diner

Protests targeting Tesla showrooms have maintained a consistent presence across the United States, with organizers reporting sustained attendance since a peak in late March. The “Tesla Takedown” initiative has scheduled 40 demonstrations for the upcoming weekend, underscoring the ongoing nature of these events.

One organizer expressed confidence in the movement’s impact, stating, “We’ve already been accomplished in tarnishing the Tesla brand.”

In contrast to the ongoing protests, Tesla CEO Elon Musk focused on the company’s future during its second-quarter earnings call. He reiterated enterprising plans for the robotaxi service and the mass production of the humanoid robot, Optimus. Notably, optimus was recently observed serving popcorn at a diner owned by Musk.

Tesla’s financial performance in the second quarter showed a decline in automotive revenue by 16% and an overall revenue decrease of 12%. Sales for the popular Model Y and Model 3 dropped by 12% compared to the previous year. More substantially, sales of Tesla’s higher-priced models, including the Cybertruck, experienced a ample plunge of 52%.

The company’s stock, traded under the ticker TSLA, saw a decline of over 4% last week, closing at $316.06 on Friday. This followed a 9% drop on Thursday. Since reaching a high of $479.86 on December 17, Tesla shares have fallen by 34%.
