Teenager Killed in Police Chase – France

A fatal incident occurred early this morning in Bièvres,essonne,following a police chase initiated after a reported motorcycle theft. A teenager died after being struck by a police vehicle while fleeing on foot.

The events unfolded around 4:50 am when a resident of Châtenay-Malabry,in the Hauts-de-Seine department,contacted authorities to report a suspected motorcycle theft in progress. The resident reported observing two individuals loading a motorcycle into a van. A police patrol unit quickly responded and initiated a pursuit as the van, which also contained a second stolen motorcycle, fled the scene.

Chase and Fatal Collision

After a pursuit spanning approximately fifteen kilometers, the suspects abandoned the van at a service station along the National 118 highway in Bièvres. They then attempted to continue their escape on foot. During this phase, one of the individuals ran into the roadway and was struck by the police vehicle, despite officers applying emergency brakes.Despite immediate first aid administered by officers at the scene, the teenager succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

The second suspect was apprehended in a wooded area near the service station and is currently in police custody. Investigations are being conducted by the Clamart police station and the motorway CRS (Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité). The General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) has also been involved, standard procedure in incidents involving fatalities during police operations.
