Owen Cooper Wins at teh Emmys,While Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen to Receive Bob Hope Humanitarian Award
Los angeles,CA – In a moving ceremony at the 2025 Emmy awards,rising star Owen Cooper took home an award for his role in Adolescence,marking a significant win for the young actor. The evening also honored veteran performers Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen with the prestigious Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, recognizing their decades of philanthropic work.
The recognition for Cooper comes as Adolescence gains critical acclaim for its sensitive portrayal of teenage life. Meanwhile, Danson and Steenburgen are the first couple to receive the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, established in 2002 by the Television Academy to honor media figures embodying the spirit of the late comedian’s dedication to service.
The Television academy lauded Danson and Steenburgen, married since 1995, as “two luminaries whose off-screen legacy shines as radiant as their decades of celebrated television work.” Their commitment to “global good” through activism and philanthropy earned them the honor.
danson, known for roles in Cheers, Curb Your enthusiasm, The Good Place, and Becker, has been a dedicated environmentalist and ocean conservation activist since co-founding the american Oceans Campaign in 1987. He has also supported organizations like the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
Steenburgen, celebrated for her performances in Elf, Parenthood, and her Oscar-winning role in Melvin and Howard, has championed causes such as Artists for a Free South Africa and No Kid Hungry. She is also a vocal advocate for increased arts funding in US schools.
Beyond their individual efforts, Danson and Steenburgen have consistently supported LGBTQ+ rights and co-founded Angels at Risk in 2007, a charity dedicated to combating drug and alcohol abuse among children, teenagers, and their families.
