Tara Reid Files Police Report Following Alleged Drugging Incident at Hotel Bar
LOS ANGELES, CA – Actress Tara Reid has filed a police report alleging she was drugged at a hotel bar in Los Angeles on November 22, 2023, resulting in an eight-hour blackout and subsequent hospitalization. the incident occurred during an appearance at the “RECon” event at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
Reid alleges she was approached by a “very prosperous influencer and YouTuber” while in the hotel lobby and the two exchanged numbers after going outside for a cigarette. Upon returning to the lobby,Reid states she discovered a napkin covering her drink. ”The last thing I remember was drinking that drink and seeing a couple sitting next to us,” Reid said in the police report. “The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital around 8 hours or more later not knowing where I was or anything that happened. I fully blacked out with no recollection of anything.”
The incident raises concerns about the ongoing issue of drink spiking, a crime that can have devastating consequences for victims. While statistics on drugging are arduous to ascertain due to underreporting, awareness of the issue has grown in recent years, particularly within the entertainment industry and at large public events.
According to the police report, reid’s agent located the hospital where she was taken and picked her up.She claims hospital staff told her she was “free to go” without providing release forms or discharge papers. After retrieving her belongings from the hotel, Reid checked out.
Reid further alleges that the influencer later sent her videos of herself at the hotel following the alleged drugging - footage which was subsequently obtained and published by TMZ, showing her slurring her words and requiring assistance from a medical team. Reid stated she believed the influencer “was trying to extort, saying he could stop the videos going out.”
The police report concludes with Reid stating the influencer told her she had called security on him and confirmed she only consumed one drink. Despite the incident, Reid attended a scheduled autograph event on Sunday, November 23, where she interacted with fans. An event organizer told rolling Stone that Reid “did come” and “was very polite and happy to everybody.”
The Los Angeles Police Department has not yet commented on the status of the investigation.
