TAIPEI,Taiwan -‍ A 29-year-old man’s elaborate marriage proposal in Taipei’s Songshan District took a dramatic turn in June when an illegally parked Mercedes-Benz⁢ led ‍to⁢ a ⁢police investigation,the revelation of drugs,and‍ his arrest. The incident, recently gaining viral attention ​after photos of the arrest circulated online,‌ highlights a‌ bizarre intersection of romance and‍ legal ​trouble.

According to local media reports, police approached the vehicle after noticing it was parked illegally. The driver, identified ​as Mr. Huang, displayed a “flurry attitude”​ and appeared nervous during the initial interaction.Suspecting possible drug involvement, officers requested a search of‌ the car, which Mr. Huang resisted, allegedly even intimidating the officers.

During the ensuing detention, which involved officers “catching ⁤ [him] ⁣down to the ground,” the trunk of the vehicle ​unexpectedly opened, revealing marriage proposal accessories and a sign reading “MARRY ME.”
