Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Window
Sega has officially announced Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties for teh Nintendo Switch 2, with a planned release date of February 12, 2026. the reveal came during Sega’s RGG Summit 2025, marking a significant addition to the Switch 2’s launch lineup.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a complete remake of the 2009 Yakuza 3, which previously saw a remaster in 2018. This new version promises to evolve every aspect of the original game, featuring reimagined combat, enhanced visuals bringing the streets of Okinawa and tokyo to life, and added scenes to deepen the emotional impact of the story.New and expanded side experiences will further immerse players in the Yakuza universe.
Alongside the main campaign, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties includes a separate game mode titled Dark Ties. Players will step into the shoes of Yoshitaka Mine, a character originally featured in Yakuza 3, and experiance his dramatic story. Mine, a former successful entrepreneur who voluntarily entered the yakuza world after personal loss, embarks on a journey to find connection, utilizing a boxing-focused combat system and engaging side content.
Sega describes the overarching narrative as two separate paths – Kiryu‘s and Mine’s – that will ultimately ”converge to shake the very foundations of fate.”
