Yakuza Kiwami 3 Remake Appears to Have Leaked Online
A remake of Yakuza 3,branded as Yakuza Kiwami 3,appears to have been prematurely revealed on the RGG Studio website. A listing for the game briefly appeared on the site before being taken down, but screenshots were captured and shared widely online by fans, including on X (formerly Twitter) by user @tdkumon on September 17, 2025.
The potential remake has been discussed by RGG Studio for some time. Series director Masayoshi Yokoyama stated in April 2024 that a Kiwami 3 was planned, saying, “I think we’ll definitely do it eventually.” the Kiwami series remakes previous Yakuza titles with updated graphics, gameplay, and expanded storylines. Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 successfully brought the first two games to PlayStation 4.
The original Yakuza 3 was released for PlayStation 3 in March 2010 and later received a remaster for PlayStation 4 alongside Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5. However, the Kiwami releases represent a more substantial overhaul.
an official announcement is anticipated soon, possibly during Sony’s rumored State of Play livestream next week or at the RGG summit on September 24th. Previous RGG Studio remakes, such as Like a Dragon: Ishin, have been unveiled during Sony showcases.
