Bug Tussel’s high-speed internet service is expanding across rural brown County, with several new towers projected to go live in the third quarter of 2025. These include Buckman,Greenleaf,Hollandtown,and Humboldt. Park Road and Scray Hill are expected to come online in late third quarter 2025. overland’s timeline is still to be steadfast.
currently, six Bug Tussel towers provide 25/3 Mbps service to approximately 12,000 homes and businesses in eastern and southern Brown County.
The extension of broadband internet is crucial for rural Brown County,addressing needs for remote work,virtual learning,telehealth,agriculture,and entertainment. It will also enhance public safety by enabling upgrades to the 911 emergency system. Moreover, Bug tussel’s network will offer a new internet option for all of Brown County, including areas like Greenleaf and Hollandtown. The project, funded by a county loan, is expected to save taxpayer dollars by being repaid and reducing county operating costs. This infrastructure progress, alongside projects like the South Bridge Connector, is anticipated to foster residential growth in smaller communities and rural areas.
