Title: Belarusian Intelligence Agent Protasiewicz: Arrest, Sentence, and Pardon

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor October 31, 2025
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

Belarusian Leader Claims Jailed journalist Roman ⁤Protasiewicz Was an Intelligence Operative

MINSK – Belarusian President Alexander⁤ Lukashenko has ⁤asserted ‍that Roman Protasiewicz,a journalist previously sentenced too eight years in a⁤ penal colony and ‌afterward pardoned, was secretly working as an intelligence agent for Belarus. According to Lukashenko, Protasiewicz traveled ⁢to Greece, reported to Belarusian intelligence officers, received assignments, and returned via Vilnius – all while ⁣appearing to be an opposition figure.

Lukashenko⁣ stated, “We ‍had to perform surgery to stop him.Although we didn’t have to stop him. He went to Greece, was summoned there,⁤ reported to the intelligence officers about everything that interested us, was given the assignment and flew back. Back‍ to where ⁢he worked, via Vilnius. We were accused of detaining an oppositionist. And he was not ‌our oppositionist. We ⁢did ⁢not detain an oppositionist. But sanctions were imposed.” ⁣The claim, reported Friday by TASS, casts a new light on ‍the 2021 incident involving the forced landing of a Ryanair flight in Minsk, ‌leading to Protasiewicz’s arrest.

Protasiewicz, a former co-editor of the opposition channel Nexta -‌ designated “extremist” and later classified as a “terrorist institution” by Belarusian authorities – was detained in May 2021 following the diverted ⁢flight from Athens to Vilnius. Prior to his ⁢trial, protasiewicz appeared in state media, admitting guilt and criticizing opposition colleagues.⁢ He was sentenced to eight⁣ years in a penal colony in May 2023, but subsequently pardoned and placed under house arrest pending appeal.

Also detained in 2021 was Sofija Sapiega, a Russian citizen and Protasiewicz’s partner at the time, who was sentenced to six years in prison and later‍ extradited to‌ Russia. The veracity of⁣ Lukashenko’s⁢ claims remains ‌unconfirmed and is being viewed by some ‌as potential propaganda.

Sean Connery was not like James Bond in private. He allegedly used violence against his wife

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor October 31, 2025
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Sean Connery‘s Dark ‌Side: Behind the James Bond Persona, allegations of Domestic Violence Emerge

Newly resurfaced accounts paint a starkly different picture of Sean ⁢Connery⁣ than the suave, sophisticated secret agent he portrayed⁤ on screen, alleging a pattern of abusive behavior⁤ toward his first wife, Diane ‍Cilento. While ⁣celebrated for his iconic role as James Bond‌ and a career spanning decades, Connery’s personal life was reportedly marred by volatility and, according to ‍Cilento, physical violence.

The ⁣revelation comes⁢ as Connery’s legacy is ‍re-examined, years⁤ after his death in 2020 at age 90. His estate, valued at approximately $170 million, was entirely⁤ donated to charity following ‌his passing. However,⁢ the charitable act doesn’t erase ⁤the disturbing claims made by Cilento, who detailed years of alleged abuse in her 1993 autobiography, My⁤ Life with James Bond.⁢ These accounts challenge the public’s perception of the beloved‍ actor and raise questions about the hidden struggles behind a glittering Hollywood facade.

Cilento, a successful‌ actress in her own⁣ right, married Connery ‌in 1962 and divorced him ⁤in 1973. In her memoir,‌ she described Connery’s temper and controlling ‌behavior, alleging instances of verbal and physical abuse. ‌She⁣ claimed the actor’s jealousy and insecurity fueled the violence, which she said escalated ⁤over time. While Connery consistently‍ denied the allegations, dismissing them as exaggerated‌ and stemming from Cilento’s bitterness over their divorce,⁢ her claims ‍have gained renewed attention in light of broader conversations surrounding domestic violence and the power dynamics within the entertainment industry.

Despite his complex character, Connery⁤ remained a towering figure in cinema, earning an Academy Award for his role in Untouchables (1987) and solidifying his ‍status⁢ as a global⁣ icon. His son, Jason Connery, and second wife, Micheline⁤ Roquebrune, remained devoted‌ to him throughout his life, providing care until his death. Though, the allegations of abuse cast a long shadow over his public image, prompting a reevaluation of the man behind the legend.

Perepeczko, renowned for his roles in ⁤films like Vabank and Sexmission, died on may 28, 1999, leaving behind a legacy as one of Poland’s most cherished comedic performers.
