DES MOINES,Iowa – Additional showers are expected acrossโ Iowa through theโ weekend and into next week, continuing a pattern of daily โคrainfall.
A low-pressureโ systemโ overโ South Dakota is driving the unsettled weather, with energy rippling across the Midwest. โAs of Saturday evening, scatteredโค showers were restricted too southwest Iowa. The โDes Moinesโฃ metro area is expected to remain dry โฃthrough โat leastโค 10-11 p.m.
Later tonight, showers will driftโ east, primarily south of Interstate โ80,and spread northward into eastern iowa by Sunday morning. Scattered rain is possible through lunchtime, while western โฃIowa should remain mostly dry.
Sunday is forecast to be sunnier with more spotty rainfall and โฃtemperatures climbing โขtoward 80 degrees.
However, the reprieve will be brief. More showers and storms are anticipated next โฃweek. Storms may develop in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota on Monday, moving southward overnight.
From Tuesday through at least Thursday, another low-pressure system will bring the potential forโฃ daily showers and a drop in temperatures back into the 70s.
