Volkswagen intends to rapidly expand its electric vehicle lineup, notably in the affordable segment, with plans to launch the ID.Every1 and ID.Cross by 2025, and potentially an electric compact SUV akin toโ the Tiguan by 2026. The automaker announced the strategy alongside the unveilingโค of the ID.Every1 concept at E-Salon โข2025.
Volkswagen’s renewed push comes as the company seeks to regain โฃits position as a producer โฃof “people’s cars” and โaddress technological shortcomings relative to โcompetitorsโค like Tesla and, now, Rivian-with โwhom Volkswagenโ is collaborating. The ID.Every1, measuring 3,880 mm in length, will accommodate four passengers and offer 305 litersโ ofโ cargo space, powered by a 70 kW electric motor and built on โฃthe โฃnew MEB Plus platform with โfront-wheel drive. Chief Designerโ Andreas Mindt also โhinted at โคa larger sibling to theโ ID.Cross, speculated to be an ID.Tiguan,โ arriving โin 2026.
