Hanoi (VNA) – Twenty Vietnamese companies and 1,200 investors from 70 countries and territories around the world have just participated in the Summit on Direct Investment in the United States, organized by the United States Department of Commerce in the Washington Capital Region.

In this program, the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States and the Asia Group organized a private meeting between Vietnamese companies and American partners. The objective was to promote the implementation of projects by Vietnamese companies.

The 20 Vietnamese companies planning to invest in the United States participating in this year’s conference are active in the fields of manufacturing and assembly of electric vehicles and batteries, software, interior design, construction , logistics and transport, food, packaging.

The United States is implementing the Chip and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Infrastructure Act and multi-billion dollar support programs for companies investing in the American soil.

Keith D. Sernick, lawyer, investment adviser of Tin Thanh Group in the United States evaluated: “every company has the possibility of receiving government support of up to 10 million dollars or more when opening a factory in areas where investment is encouraged, especially in the southeastern states where the cost of land is lower than in the northeast. I think this is a great time and an opportunity for Vietnamese companies to consider doing business in the United States”.

“Vietnamese companies looking to invest in the United States can find partners in the United States. They will receive timely support from the US administration, to speed up their investment process. We continue to believe that the future of relations between Vietnam and the United States will depend on the trade and investment relations between the two parties,” said Nirav Patel, director and co-founder of Asia Group, United States.

The United States is still the largest recipient of foreign direct investment in the world. In the years 2013 to 2022, Vietnam ranked 9th out of 10 countries in the Asia-Pacific region in terms of investment commitment to the United States.

The interest of Vietnamese companies to invest in the United States is increasing. Many of them have even become an important link in the production chain in the United States. – CPV/NAV
