The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 officially begins Monday, March 2nd, with the Fira Gran Via exhibition center in Barcelona remaining open through Thursday, March 5th. Initial press events are slated to commence this weekend, promising early previews of forthcoming announcements.
Thousands of manufacturers from across the globe are expected to participate, including established brands such as Dell, Meta Platforms, Ericsson, AMD, Honor, Intel, Lenovo, Motorola, and Microsoft. Beyond smartphones and computer tablets, the event will showcase a diverse range of innovations, including accessories, cases, power banks, keyboards, and external storage devices. Wearable electronics will also be prominently featured.
MWC Barcelona has grow a central hub for the mobile technology industry, attracting key figures like Mark Zuckerberg in recent years, according to Barcelona Tourism. The event is anticipated to draw close to 3,000 exhibitors and over 109,000 trade visitors, with more than 1,200 industry leaders scheduled to speak, as reported by expobeds.com.
This year’s event marks the 20th anniversary of MWC in Barcelona. Attendees can choose from various passes, including an Exhibition Pass (€989 with VAT, or €899 excluding VAT) offering access to summits, speakers, and the show floor, or a Leaders Conference Pass (€2,419 with VAT, or €2,199 excluding VAT) providing exclusive networking opportunities with industry leaders.
Looking ahead to MWC, recent innovations showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 offer a glimpse of potential trends. Mammotion’s Spino S1 Pro robotic pool cleaner, demonstrated at CES, autonomously cleans pools, submerging and resurfacing using a robotic base. Lollipop Star, a musical lollipop, plays music directly “inside the head” even as being consumed. Lego debuted smart bricks capable of reacting to their environment, while Tombot’s robotic Labrador retriever, Jennie, aims to provide emotional support.
Pebble introduced a “smart ring” intended as an “external memory for the human brain,” though its limited 12-14 hour battery life renders it disposable after a single day of leverage. OhmBody presented a wearable device designed to alleviate menstrual symptoms without hormones or medication, stimulating nerves in the ear. Fraimic showcased a “Smart Canvas” that generates artwork based on user voice commands. Pebble also revealed the Pebble Round 2 smartwatch, a successor to the popular Pebble Time Round from 2015.
Further innovations at CES included the LiberLive, a stringless guitar with improved features, and the RheoFit A1 automatic massage roller, which uses artificial intelligence to personalize muscle recovery. The event highlighted the intersection of technology and art, with the emergence of AI-powered devices and innovative solutions for everyday life.
