    • Azzi Fudd, UConn, graduate guard

NEW YORK – The 2024-25 All-America ⁢team, announced today, showcases a blend of established stars and rising talents ⁢poised too lead their teams deep into the NCAA Tournament. The team features Madison Booker‌ of the Big⁣ 12’s ⁤Texas Tech,Hannah‌ Hidalgo of ⁣the SEC’s‌ South Carolina, and Azzi Fudd of UConn, among others.

Madison Booker, Texas Tech, sophomore ‌guard

2024-25‌ stats:‌ 17.3 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.4 apg, 46.3 FG%

Booker quickly established herself⁣ as a force in women’s college basketball, leading Texas Tech in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore. Her all-around game⁣ and ability to impact multiple facets of the game make her a standout player ⁢in the Big 12 and nationally. booker’s versatility allows her ⁣to create‍ scoring opportunities for herself and ⁢her teammates, making⁤ her a difficult matchup for opponents.

Hannah Hidalgo, South ‌Carolina,⁣ senior guard

2024-25 stats: 25.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.6 apg, 45.1 FG%

hidalgo is an advantage player who has been⁣ one of the country’s best pure scorers since‍ she⁢ entered ⁢college three seasons⁤ ago. ‍She topped the nation‌ in scoring last year and led Florida State to its first NCAA Tournament win since⁤ 2019. Yet she transferred to South Carolina, where she is set up to immediately lift the Gamecocks’ offense. South Carolina lost several key contributors to pro ball, but Hidalgo will provide an immediate boost. how productive she ends up being will likely come down to her workload. Hidalgo averaged more than ⁣30 minutes per game in two of‍ her first three college seasons, but only one South Carolina player ⁢has averaged more than 30 minutes since 2021. Former Gamecocks star A’ja Wilson ⁣is also the last South Carolina player to take ⁤more than⁤ 15 shots per game, doing so in 2017-18. Hidalgo has eclipsed that number in each of‌ her three seasons.

Azzi Fudd, UConn, graduate guard

2024-25 stats: 13.6 ppg, 91.7 FT%, 43.6 3-PT%

The most outstanding player of⁢ the 2025 Final four was the Huskies’ ceiling-raiser. Now,she’ll⁤ have to fill more of a primary scoring role with the departure of Bueckers to the WNBA.⁣ Fudd has always been one of the best ⁤shooters in the country, and that might be enough with Strong as the alpha, Serah‍ Williams working the interior and secondary playmaking and scoring⁤ from the likes of KK Arnold and transfer Kayleigh Heckel. This placement⁢ for Fudd supposes that she’ll become more aggressive and well-rounded another year removed from her ACL tear.

Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong finished last ⁢season at the top of their games…and somehow came back better

AP Top 25: Texas, Penn State drop out of poll as Ohio State, Miami lead rankings

AP Top 25: Ohio State‌ Holds No. 1, Texas and Penn State Fall From Rankings

NEW YORK – ⁢ Ohio State remains the nation’s top-ranked⁢ team⁤ in the latest ⁤Associated Press ‌Top 25 poll, released Sunday, while preseason favorites Texas and Penn State both‍ dropped out following recent‍ losses. The ⁤Buckeyes’ continued dominance, highlighted by their impressive roster, solidified their position at No.⁣ 1, narrowly edging out ⁣Miami for the top spot despite the inherent difficulty of ranking teams without degrees of separation.

The shakeup sees Texas A&M climb to No. 3,jumping Oregon, whose best win is currently a road victory at Penn state.⁤ The Aggies’ own signature win came at notre Dame. While acknowledging oregon’s potential, the voter noted the Ducks “definitely look the part” despite the shift.

Both Texas and penn State, previously ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively on the preseason ballot, are now unranked. The voter indicated both programs ⁢have‍ the potential to return‌ to the rankings, citing Penn State’s recent loss to UCLA as a⁢ setback, not a definitive fall from contention. However,⁣ both teams “need to show me something” to earn their way back into ‌the poll.

Memphis enters the Top 25 at No. 23, becoming the first bowl-eligible team in the country with a 6-0 record. They finished last ‌season‍ ranked No. 24. The addition ‍of Memphis, alongside a ranked Vanderbilt despite a loss to Alabama, gives‌ the state of Tennessee three teams in the AP Top 25 – joining no.⁤ 12 Tennessee – for the first time,⁢ according to the College Poll Archive. USF returns to the rankings at No. 24, largely due to⁢ a prior win‍ against⁣ Florida.

Looking ahead, three ranked matchups highlight next week’s schedule:

* ⁤⁢ No.⁣ 1 Ohio State at No. 17 Illinois: This will be the‍ tenth ⁢meeting between the teams while both are ranked, with Ohio State holding a 3-6‌ record in previous encounters, and ⁣having ⁤lost all four since 1964. Illinois has previously ‍defeated top-ranked ⁤Ohio State teams in 1950 and 2007.
* No. 7 Indiana at No. 3 Oregon: This is only the third meeting between⁤ Indiana and ⁤Oregon, and the first since Indiana won in Eugene in 2004, a ‌game marked‍ by seven oregon turnovers.
* ⁣ no. 8 Alabama at No. 14 Missouri: ⁤ Since Missouri joined‌ the SEC, Alabama has won both previous ranked matchups ⁢against the Tigers by a combined score of⁢ 76-13.
