According to the US military, several hundred Ukrainian soldiers have already been trained on Bradley armored personnel carriers at the military training area in Grafenwoehr, Bavaria. The first group of around 635 Ukrainians completed their almost five-week training this week, the US Department of Defense announced on Friday in Washington. Two other battalions would have started training. In the coming week, training on Stryker wheeled infantry fighting vehicles should also start for a first group of Ukrainian soldiers.

WASHINGTON – The governor of the US state of Pennsylvania does not want to execute any inmates during his term in office. “Every time an execution warrant lands on my desk, I will sign a pardon,” said Democrat Josh Shapiro on Thursday (local time). He also called for the abolition of the death penalty in Pennsylvania. The 49-year-old was elected governor of the state in the midterm elections in November and took office in January. His predecessor, Democrat Tom Wolf, also opposes the death penalty and imposed a moratorium during his tenure.
