Skoda Citijet โคConcept: Automotive Students Unleash Retro-Inspired Speedster
Mladรก โBoleslav,Czech Republic -โ September 20,2025 – A team of โ22 vocational students from ล koda Auto’s apprenticeshipโฃ program have unveiled the Citijet concept,a striking,open-top speedster built upon the chassis of a ล kodaโฃ Fabia. The project,completed over a year,showcases theโฃ students’โฃ skills in design,engineering,and fabrication,reviving โฃthe spirit of the original ล koda Citijet fromโ 1990.
The Citijet isn’t merely a nostalgic throwback; it’s a tangible โdemonstration of ล koda’s commitment to fostering the next generation of automotive talent. This hands-on experience allows apprentices to apply classroomโ learning to a real-world project, developing expertise across multipleโ disciplines. The concept car’s creation involved everyโค stage of automotive production,from initial sketches and 3D modelingโข to body panel construction โคand finalโ assembly. The project underscores the importanceโ of vocational training in the automotive industry and provides a platform for students โto demonstrate their capabilities โto potential employers.
The โคtwo-seater Citijet boasts a shortened body, dramatically โlowered roofline, and extensive body modifications. Students crafted new front and rearโค bumpers, widened the wheel arches, and integrated distinctive air intakes. The โคvehicle’s exterior is finished in a vibrantโ “Ruby Red” paint, complemented โฃby blackโฃ alloy wheels. Inside, theโ cabin โfeaturesโ sporty bucket seats, a redesigned dashboard, and a modern infotainment system.
Powering the Citijet is a 1.0 TSI engine producing 95 horsepower, delivering โคaโค top speed of 180 km/h โข(approximately 112 mph).The students also focused on weight reduction, contributing to the โcar’s agile handling. ล koda has a long history of student concept cars, including the Felicia Fun from 1995 and the Citiopen from 2001, demonstrating a sustained investment in practical education.
