KYIV – Military Ukraine redoubled efforts to break through the strong Russian defenses in its counteroffensive to the south. However, Ukraine has struggled to gain momentum since its launch in early June due to its many failures.

Moreover, some Ukrainian officials complained that the allies’ expectations were unreasonable given the depth of Russian defenses and Russian air superiority. However, Ukraine should be grateful for Western equipment such as mine engineering vehicles and cluster bombs.

Launch CNN, although there was no unexpected collapse of the Russian line, Ukraine’s advantage was a long war punctuated by pauses and slower periods of effort. Ukraine must also continue to improve and improve their strategy.

Here are 6 Ukrainian combat strategies to repel the Russian army.

1. Added New Military Units

Ukrainian officials have been quiet about what new units are being made for the offensive. But the military has clearly added new units equipped with western armor in at least one important segment of the southern front.

The challenges faced by Ukraine may be less to do with numbers and more to do with skills, training and coordination. In addition, these factors were critical when an attacking force was faced with so many defenses.

The commitment of new units this week appears to have allowed the Ukrainians to make modest progress south of the city of Orikhiv, approaching the important Russian center of Tokmak about 20 kilometers south of the current front line.

There were other modest successes further east, but the few frontline accounts that have emerged speak of the incessant Russian aviation and artillery attacks.

The Impact of Russia’s “Special Military Operation” on Young Russians in Moscow

MOSCOW – On a warm July day in the capital Russia a young couple walks hand-in-hand along the Moskva river as tour boats glide lazily downstream, the Kremlin towers peeking out from behind the treetops.

During the beautiful summer months in Moscow, Reuters interviewed four young Russians living there to find out how their lives have changed since the start of what the Kremlin called a “special military operation” in Ukraine.

All four were born around the turn of the millennium, when President Vladimir Putin rose to power, and knew no Russia other than the Russia he ruled.

Some talk about study and work plans turned upside down, others, about the fear of the unknown and unpredictable future. But none of the four says they can do much to influence Russia’s direction.

Instead, as one young man put it, there was nothing left to do but adjust to the new reality and “move on”.

Sabina, 23, born in Moscow to Abkhaz descent, studied data journalism at the Moscow Higher School of Economics.

Before 2022, Sabina thought that she could go somewhere to study, enrolled in a university abroad. “I wanted to enroll in a university in Finland but kept putting it off, even though I really wanted to. Now it looks like I’m not going anywhere,” says Sabina.

“Not without my family, at least. Because, okay, I might leave, but who knows what happens next. Something might happen to them if they don’t leave the country with me. It seems we are making a choice now: which side of the border we are on stay. You are on one side or the other. And that is the last resort,” said Sabina.

MOSCOW – Mercenary story Wagner always gives an interesting touch because it involves a deadly battle to the ideological value behind the struggle.

One of Wagner’s mercenaries who was willing to speak to Euronews is Sasha. He joined Wagner. He fought in Bakhmut. He is also always grateful to be safe.

Here are 10 horror stories of Wagner’s mercenaries on the Ukrainian battlefields.

1. Must be Ready to Suicide

“I always carry three grenades, two for the enemy and one in case I have to kill myself,” a Wagner mercenary told me Euronews. “I refuse to be a prisoner of war”.

The story revealed that a former Wagner mercenary has spoken exclusively to Euronews to share his harrowing story.

Sasha, not her real name, fought a months-long battle for Bakhmut.

Due to his lack of discipline and desire for battle, he said Wagner acted as second in line behind the regular Russian troops on the front, whom Sasha described as “conscripts who were only 21 years old”, to ensure they would not fall back.

“They are [wajib militer Rusia] unmotivated, they are weak, they are taken from the streets and told: go to war,” he said. “If their commander falls, they tend to surrender quickly.”

Wagner Group: Heavy Losses in Ukraine – 28% Killed, 40,000 Injured

MOSCOW – Mercenary group Wagner experienced a major setback in its involvement in the war in Ukraine. A senior Wagner official claimed that 28% of the Wagner Group troops sent to Ukraine were killed.

The tally says that out of 78,000 fighters, 22,000 were killed with another 40,000 injured. In fact, the group was key to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but is now being punished by the Kremlin.

“The Wagner Group suffered heavy losses fighting in Ukraine, including 28% of its troops were killed,” said a Wagner official, identified as Marx. He confirmed that 78,000 fighters went to Ukraine with mercenary groups, and 22,000 died. It was reported Razgruzka Vagnera’s Telegram channel.

Launching Insider, the data is said to be accurate on May 20.

News from Wagner has frequently emerged from the strangest of places in Russian media, including in the past from Yevgeny Prigozhin’s media company. Razgruzka Vagnrea (Russian for “unloading Wagner”) affiliated with Wagner’s high command, The Moscow Times reported, and had been a source for news about the group before.

The media reports indicated 22,000 people died, 40,000 others were injured, and another 25,000 remained alive and well. That means the Wagner Group has a total of 62,000 victims, according to official figures. This meant that 28% of Wagner’s troops were killed and another 51% wounded.

Wagner sent thousands of mercenaries and recruits from prison into the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Marx said the majority of Wagner fighters in Ukraine, or about 49,000, were ex-convicts.

Prisoners were promised pardons in exchange for six months of service in Ukraine.

The group’s brutal tactics aided Russia in Ukraine, most notably in capturing the town of Bakhmut. But its leader Yevgeny Prigozhin has repeatedly clashed with Russian military leaders, accusing them of trying to destroy his group by not providing enough ammunition.

Ukraine’s Role in European Security: Standing Up to Russia for Freedom and Democracy

KIEV – Europeans should be grateful that Ukrainians are willing to stand up to Russia and perish on the battlefield for them.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s senior adviser, Mikhail Podoliak, said this after Zelensky criticized NATO. Zelensky was angry that NATO did not provide Ukraine with an accession roadmap during last week’s summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

“Europe is lucky because there is a country like Ukraine, which is ready to defend the common European way of life, dominated by competition, democracy, freedom and so on, with the lives of (its soldiers),” Podoliak told the Baltic news agency Delfi on Friday.

He insisted, “Russia wants to drag us all to the classic Soviet (prison) camps.”

“Western politicians and pundits arguing for reopening negotiations with Moscow are stuck in the past,” said Podoliak.

Zelensky’s advisers praised Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, who recently told the Financial Times that Western aid to Kiev was “not charity.”

“They fought for our freedom and for the European security architecture,” Valtonen said.

The West’s determination to help Ukraine was called into question after, despite repeated pleas from Kiev, Ukraine was refused NATO membership and given no concrete timetable for accession.

President Putin: Russia Will Not Succumb to Western Technology Restrictions

MOSCOW – President Vladimir Putin stated the west hopes to force Russia into submission by limiting its access to technology, but this is not going to happen.

“Our opponents hope that we will retreat or surrender, but this will not happen, as we often say in such cases,” he stressed at the Future Technology Forum event in Moscow on Thursday (13/7/2023).

“Russia will only move forward, in its own way, without isolating itself from anyone. Against external pressure, we will only respond by increasing the quality and efficiency of work and spreading freedom,” he said.

The technology embargo imposed by the West in 2022 is an attempt to force Russia to surrender its sovereignty and ability to chart its own historical course, according to the president.

Moscow responded in kind in 2014, when the first wave of sanctions became an incentive for the rapid development of domestic capabilities.

“The same positive processes that are happening with Russian agriculture are now happening with manufacturing and technology,” he said.

The Future Technology Forum, dubbed ‘Quantum Realm: Computing and Communications’, started on July 9 and will end on Friday.

The exhibition portion of the event, which is open to the public, starts on Thursday and features high-tech products from major Russian companies, from nuclear giant Rosatom to Sberbank.
