LOSโ ANGELES, CA – โขSean Bailey, former โPresident of Disney Worldwide Production and producer of the recently released Tron: ares, has launched B5, aโ new entertainment company focused on innovative storytelling and emerging technologies. The venture โis backed byโค RedBird Capital, โa private investmentโฃ firm, and aims to “trailblaze new entertainmentโฃ formats” alongside films and television series.
Bailey,who oversaw a period of unprecedented success at Disney – including a record-breaking 2019 for The Walt Disney Studiosโ – โขexited the studio in February 2024 to focus on Tron: Ares,which has already grossed overโ $124 million worldwide. โDuring his 14-year tenure at Disney, he shepherded blockbuster releases such as Pirates of the Caribbean,โ beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, โคand The Lion King. He also played aโฃ key role in โคthe launch of Disney+ and spearheaded Disney StudioLAB, an innovation hub exploring emerging technologies in โขstorytelling.
