Thiruvananthapuram: The ship ‘Shenhua 15’ which arrived at Vizhinjam International Port with cranes will leave today or tomorrow. The ship is preparing to return to China after the three cranes from the ship have been unloaded at the berth. The third crane was lowered into the berth yesterday afternoon. Meanwhile, the second ship (Shenhua 29) returned from China with six cranes.

The vessel Shenhua 15 of Shanghai PMC from China anchored in Vizhinjam project area on 12th of this month. The ship reached the Indian coast on September 24, but was heading straight to the port of Mundra in Gujarat. After lowering the crane at Mundra, the ship left for Vizhinja. The ship arrived with the cranes most essential for the operation of the port.

Being the first ship to arrive at the port, Shenhua was given a grand reception on the 15th under the leadership of the Chief Minister. Receiving the ship, the Chief Minister had said that the reality is that we only have a little understanding of the development potential that Vizhinjam port offers to Kerala and that development beyond imagination is coming. A 600m high shift show crane and two yard cranes were on board. Due to weather and legal issues, there were delays in bringing down the cranes to the harbor berth. Then these were fixed and the cranes were lowered.

Controversial Transfer of Police Officers at Pettah Station Cancelled

written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Thiruvananthapuram – The city police commissioner canceled the transfer of the policemen who fined the DYFI leader for not wearing a helmet and stopped the CPM leaders who were pushed into the Petta police station in protest. The transferred officers were re-deputed at Petta station. SIs S.Azeem, M.Abhilash and driver M.Mithun of Petta station have been reinstated. The SIs were transferred to the District Crime Branch and the driver to the AR camp. After the investigation report was in favor of the police, Petta was allowed to stay at the station. There was strong anger within the police over the government’s action under the pressure of CPM district secretary V.Joy MLA. The allegation within the police is that the instructions of the CPM leaders were implemented without listening to the officers.

The party’s complaint against the police is that they abused the DYFI leader during the vehicle inspection and beat up the CPM leaders who came to ask about it. The incidents started when SIs Abhilash and Aseem stopped the DYFI Vanchiyur Block Treasurer V. Nith who came on a bike while checking the vehicles on Oruvathilkota road at 4.30 pm on Tuesday.

The fine for not wearing a helmet sparked controversy. Nithin took the vehicle and passed from the place. Nithin reached the station with the CPM leaders at around 6 pm, alleging that they called him wrongly. CPM leaders stopped the jeep in which the SIs came. The police lathicharged the protesters. Later, under the leadership of District Secretary V. Joy, Vanchiur Area Secretary Lenin, former Mayor K. Sreekumar, Councilor D. R. Anil, etc., activists pushed into the police station and shouted and threatened the officers. The activists who were pushed twice sat on the road and shouted slogans and obstructed the traffic. Finally, the protest ended when the DCP assured that the SIs would be removed from the law and order department and an investigation would be conducted. Subsequently, the City Police Commissioner assigned Narcotics Assistant Commissioner to investigate. Subsequently, SIs S.Aseem, M.Abhilash and driver M.Mithun of Petta station were transferred.

Controversy Surrounding Hiby Eden MP’s Bill to Shift Kerala’s Capital from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com July 2, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Thiruvananthapuram: Hiby Eden MP’s bill to shift the capital of Kerala from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi has become controversial. In the background of this, the post on the Facebook page of the Kerala Police went viral.

Kerala Police posted that the helmet should be kept on the head so that the head ‘position’ does not change. The post was accompanied by a picture of a man walking in front of the Assembly building with his helmet hanging in his hand. The head is big and the helmet is also written along with the post. Many people have appreciated and commented on the post.

Hiby Eden introduced a private bill in Parliament last March to shift the capital of Kerala from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi. This came out the other day. The Union Home Ministry had sought the opinion of the state government on the bill. But the government opposed the proposal. The Chief Minister has informed the Central Government that the proposal is impractical.

The bill is facing widespread criticism from inside and outside the party. The Congress national leadership has also suggested withdrawing the bill. Also, the Congress demanded that the MPs should consult with the party while introducing private bills
