**Chow Yun-Fat** to Headline Star Awards’ 30th Anniversary
Hong Kong cinema icon Chow Yun-Fat will grace the Star Awards once more, presenting an award at the 30th-anniversary celebration on July 6th. This marks an exciting return for the actor, pivotal in shaping Asian cinema.
The Return of a Legend
The upcoming event marks three decades since Chow Yun-Fat first appeared at the Star Awards in 1994. He has starred in over a hundred productions, leading the charge in defining diverse genres with globally recognized films such as “A Better Tomorrow” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”
His extensive body of work has garnered him significant accolades, including two Golden Horse Awards, three Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Actor, and the Asian Filmmaker of the Year award from the Busan International Film Festival. The latter recognized his “significant contributions to the advancement of the Asian film industry and culture.”
Chow, 70, married to Jasmine Tan, 65, recently appeared in “Project Gutenberg” (2018) and “One More Chance” (2023). He also notably appeared in “Pirates Of The Caribbean: At Worldโs End” (2007), where his character, Captain Sao Feng, welcomed visitors to Singapore.
Star-Studded Lineup
In addition to Chow, the event will feature other prominent figures. Sean Lau from Hong Kong and Singaporean singer Kit Chan will also be presenting and performing at the show respectively.
Actress Chantalle Ng from “Emerald Hill โ The Little Nyonya Story” will host alongside veteran actor-host Guo Liang. This will be Guo‘s 16th time hosting the event, the most of any host to date.
How to Watch
The SA2025 live show and Walk of Fame segments will broadcast on Channel 8 and U, as well as on mewatch and the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel. Backstage LIVE and the Post-Awards Party will also be available on the latter two platforms.
