A shocking betrayal unfolded on the Dutch reality television program “Pandora” Saturday evening, leaving contestant Tatum Dagelet visibly emotional after fellow competitor Giel de Winter chose to prioritize a financial bonus over a pre-arranged agreement, according to RTL Boulevard.
The incident occurred during a challenge involving a sealed box. De Winter, having won a prior quest, was given the opportunity to select two companions – Tanja Jess and Dagelet – to approach the box. The established plan was for De Winter to open the box, remove Dagelet, and replace her with Mandy Woelkens. Jess and Dagelet were tasked with ensuring the box remained closed during the process, a task they believed they could accomplish based on a perceived strong alliance.
“That trust in our three-way alliance is really there,” Jess stated moments before the challenge, as reported by RTL Boulevard. However, De Winter ultimately decided to keep the box sealed, effectively sacrificing Dagelet to secure an additional 10,000 euros for the prize pool.
Dagelet adhered to the agreement, keeping the box closed despite knowing her fate rested within. Following De Winter’s decision, presenter Ruben Nicolai announced the box remained sealed, prompting a visibly moved De Winter to offer a terse apology: “Sorry schat” (“Sorry dear”). Dagelet responded with a nod and tears in her eyes, acknowledging the outcome.
The decision sparked immediate chaos and disbelief among the contestants. Woelkens expressed shock, stating, “This game is really ten times more intense than you think.” Jess was reportedly left reeling from the collapse of the alliance.
The betrayal ultimately led to Dagelet and Devran competing against each other in a subsequent challenge, with Dagelet narrowly losing before the finale. Prior to the incident, another contestant, Kira Toussaint, had voluntarily left the competition, citing an inability to continue deceiving others, according to RTL Boulevard.
“Pandora” airs every Saturday at 8:00 PM on RTL 4.
