NECA’s Pennywise Figure Hints at Major ‘Welcome to Derry’ Character Reveal
A new action figure from NECA may inadvertently spoil a key character’s connection to Pennywise in HBO’s upcoming welcome to Derry prequel series. The figure, depicting Bob Gray-a character central to Stephen King’s It-transformed as Pennywise, is now available for pre-order, sparking speculation about the extent of Gray’s role in the show.
The collectible, priced at $38 and slated to ship in 2026, portrays Gray with Pennywise’s signature features, suggesting a significant storyline involving the character’s transformation or connection to the demonic clown. This is especially noteworthy as official marketing for Welcome to Derry, starring Bill Skarsgård reprising his role as Pennywise, has largely kept the villain obscured. The figure’s existence raises questions about how closely the series will adhere to the source material and whether Gray’s fate will be revealed earlier than anticipated.
NECA is also offering additional pennywise figures, including a 7″ bloody beast version and an 18″ quarter-scale rendition, for pre-order on their website. The Bob Gray/Pennywise figure can be preordered at https://store.necaonline.com/collections/it-welcome-to-derry/products/it-welcome-to-derry-ultimate-bob-gray-as-pennywise-7-inch-scale-action-figure.
It: Welcome to Derry premieres October 26 on HBO.
