AI-Powered Compliance Startup Codara secures Traction, Eyes German Expansion
VIENNA – Codara, an Austrian legal tech startup, is โขgaining momentum with its AI-driven software designed to automate legal change detection and streamline corporate compliance. Founded after an initial advertising-based platform failed to gain traction, the company now focuses on AI-supportedโข solutionsโฃ for more efficient and obvious compliance processes.
Codara emerged โคfrom a vision to make law more accessible, according to CEO Bernhard Landrichter. โข”After the planned financingโข through advertising failed, the first โsoftware orders led to the founding of an self-reliantโ legal tech startup for compliance monitoring. Today we are developing AI-supportedโฃ solutions that make compliance processesโข more efficient, saferโ and more understandable,” Landrichter said.
The platform utilizes artificial intelligence to automatically identify and analyze legalโ updates, delivering actionable recommendations to businesses. Codara’s initial product, gesetzeFinden.at,โ a legal โfacts platform, proved unsustainable through advertising revenue. The company is now leveragingโข the experience and network โขgained โfrom that project to drive โadoption of its AI-powered compliance software.
“We are using the experiences we have gained and the contacts we have gained to achieve a breakthrough with the AI-supported compliance software,” Landrichter โemphasized. โ”The โขteam would not reccommend startingโ an ad-supported web project.”
A recent live presentation with โcustomer Austrian Power Gridโค (APG)โ at โคthe Vienna Legal Innovation event highlighted the software’s capabilities. The demo showcased how legal departments can automate routine โคtasks, improving efficiency. “It’s particularly โnice to โขsee what can be achieved through trusting collaboration and mutual recognition,” said the managing director.
Lookingโค ahead, Codara plans to expand into โthe Germanโ market in 2026 and isโ currently advancing a โresearch project focused on developing a Legal Large Languageโฃ Model (LLM).
