Background: Starship โคand LC-39A
SpaceX intends toโ utilize LC-39A, historically used for Apollo and Space Shuttle missions, for its fully reusable Starship launch vehicle. Starship is designed to carryโ both crew andโข cargo to destinations โthroughout the solar system, including the Moon and Mars. theโ program represents a important expansion of SpaceX’s launch capabilities and a key โcomponent of NASA’s Artemis program, aiming to return โฃhumans to the Moon.
The EIS is required โฃby the โNational Environmental Policyโฃ Act (NEPA)โฃ to ensure that the environmental consequences of major federal actions,โ such as approving SpaceX’sโข operations, โare carefully considered. โคThe EIS examines potential impacts โon โair and water quality, โฃnoise levels, wildlife,โค and otherโ environmental โฃfactors.
