BYD Atto 2 Price Rumors Surface as Indonesia Launch Looms
Jakarta, Indonesia – Speculation is mounting over teh potential price of the BYD Atto 2 as the electric vehicle is anticipated to enter the Indonesian market. Recent reports suggest a selling price around Rp. 200 million (approximately $12,800 USD),though official confirmation remains elusive. This potential price point would position the Atto 2 as a competitively priced option within Indonesia’s growing EV sector.
Initial listings referencing codes “SC3E-ETD-1 (4X2) AT” at Rp. 281 million and “SC3E-STD-1 (4×2) AT” at Rp. 245 million have fueled the price discussion. Though, industry analysts caution these figures may not directly translate to the final Atto 2 price tag, citing discrepancies with the BYD Atto 1 Dynamic, which launched below its NJKB (Motor Vehicle Tax Base) value. The Atto 1 Dynamic’s NJKB was Rp 218 million, while its official price was Rp. 195 million.
BYD Motor Indonesia has acknowledged considering new models for the Indonesian market but remains tight-lipped about specifics. “Yes, it is part of our current product planning strategy, I cannot disclose (open) for that. The positive means we will bring even more new products to Indonesia,” stated Head of Public and Government Relations,Luther T. Panjaitan.
The potential for domestic production of the Atto 2 is also being discussed, linked to BYD’s investment commitment to begin local vehicle assembly in Indonesia by 2025.
