BP โขFuel Returns โto Indonesian Stations, Shell Remains Dry Amid Import Talks
Jakarta – BP-branded fuel is โonce again availableโ atโ Indonesian gas stations after the company completedโ a purchase โคof 100,000 barrels of base fuel from Pertamina, the state-owned oil and gas company. However, Shell stations continue to experience fuel shortages as theโข company has yet to finalize a similar agreement with โขPertamina.
Shell Indonesia has not yet secured an import agreement for fuel oil (BBM) through Pertamina despite depleted stocks at many of its stations in recent weeks.
According to Ingrid Siburian, President Director & Managing โDirector of Mobility Shell โIndonesia, discussions regarding additionalโข fuel imports are ongoing between Shell and the โIndonesian government.
“Shell Indonesia would like โขto inform you that currently we have not reached a business-to-business (B2B) โagreement regarding commercial โaspects for theโ supply of base fuel from Pertamina Patra Niaga. B2B discussions regarding the supply of base fuel imports continue,” โSiburian stated in a written release, as reported byโข CNNIndonesia on November 2nd.
Siburian added that Shell is coordinating with โrelevant government bodies and stakeholders to ensure the eventual availability of gasoline products while โคadhering to operational โsafety standards, procedures, and procurement guidelines. The imported fuel must also meet Shell’s global quality standards.
Currently, Shellโ stations are unable to supply โฃShell โขsuper, Shell V-Power, and Shell V-power Nitro+ gasoline. However,Shell V-Power Diesel remains available, alongside other products and services such as Shell Select convenience stores,Shell recharge electric vehicle charging, workshops, andโ Shell lubricants.
Shell intends to announce the return ofโ gasolineโฃ fuel products through its official channels, including its website, customer service, the Shell Asia app, and social media. โข
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” Siburian said.
