Lizโ majerusโฃ Appointed Sheboygan‘s Fristโ Female Cityโ Attorney
SHEBOYGAN, WI – Novemberโค 4, 2025 – Lizโ Majerusโ has been โnamed the City of sheboygan’s new โฃCity Attorney, marking a historic first for the โคmunicipality.โค Majerus assumesโ the role with a wealth โฃof experience in municipal โขlaw โฃand a deep commitment toโ public service.
Majerus began her legal career as a criminal traffic defense attorney before transitioning โคto local government work. She currently servesโ as president of the Sheboygan County Bar Associationโ and is an active member of โthe Leagueโข of Municipalities, where she frequently presents and authors materials on issues facing โlocalโข governments.
The City noted Majerus’s recent speaking โengagements โand publications, including:โ 2025 Municipal Attorney’s Institute – Speaker, “But It’s Not Really an Ethics โฃViolation, Right?”; 2024 Municipal Attorney’s โขInstitute – Speaker, “Sage Advice: The Next Generation” & “ethical โDilemmasโ Ripped from the Headlines”; 2023 Municipal Attorney’s Institute – Speaker, “Raze โขOrders”; anโ articleโข in the August 2022โฃ issue of The Municipality titled “Sign Regulations Post Austin v. Reagan National”; a โฃNovember โค2022 presentation to the Sheboyganโ Countyโ Rotary; and 2021โ municipal Attorney’sโ Institute – Speaker, “Sign Regulations โpost-Reed: Anโ Update.”
As Cityโฃ Attorney,โ Majerus will represent the โcity โas a municipal corporationโฃ and oversee all โคlegal matters forโฃ its 15 departments,โ five standingโ committees, and numerous boards and commissions. The office provides legal advice, prepares and reviews legislation for the Common Council, prosecutes violations of city ordinances, andโ drafts essential legal documents like โฃcontracts, policies, and resolutions.
