Severe Storms Threaten North Texas Tuesday Evening, Overnight
DALLAS – A strengthening weather front is bringing an increasing threat of severe storms to North Texas Tuesday evening and overnight, with the potential for damaging winds and hail. While the tornado threat remains low, residents should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
The National Weather Service reports storms could arrive in the Dallas-Fort Worth area after midnight. The primary concerns are wind gusts exceeding 55-60 mph and hail up to the size of a quarter, particularly in areas north and east of DFW. Rain and storm chances will continue into Wednesday morning, with some downpours potentially becoming heavy before tapering off in the afternoon.
North Texas will experience temperatures in the 70s on Wednesday, with increased cloud cover, before rising to around 80 degrees as clouds break up later in the day. A shift towards fall-like weather is expected by thursday, with crisp mornings and lows in the 50s and 60s, and highs in the low 80s.
Friday is forecast to be sunny with light winds, offering a “pick day of the week” with beatiful September weather. The pleasant conditions are expected to continue through the weekend, with cool mornings and warm afternoons in the mid to upper 80s, and a dry forecast for both Saturday and Sunday.
