The first teaser trailerโ has droppedโข for “Good Luck,Have Fun,don’t Die,” marking Gore โVerbinski’s return to feature โคfilmmaking after a seven-year hiatus. The film, which premieredโ at the 2025 Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas this past September, blends horror andโ comedy โขand stars Sam Rockwell.โ
Verbinski, known for directing the “Pirates of the Caribbean” โtrilogy and the critically acclaimed animated film “Rango,” last directed 2016’s psychological horror “A Cureโฃ for Wellness.” โข”Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die” signals aโข shift in tone, โคoffering aโฃ darkly comedicโฃ take on the horror genre.Theโค film’s release is anticipated to reignite interest in Verbinski’s diverse directorial style and potentially launch โคa new franchise.
alongside Rockwell, theโ ensembleโ cast includes Haley Lu Richardson,โฃ Michael Peรฑa, โZazie Beetz,โค Asim Chandhry, Tom Taylor, and Juno Temple. The screenplay is by Matthew Robinson, โpreviously โฃknown for writing “The Invention of Lying” (2009) andโข “Dora andโข the Lost City of Gold” (2019). Verbinski produces the film with Robert Kulzer, Erwin Stoff, Oly Obst, and Denise Chamian.
Verbinski’s directorial debut was the 1997โ family comedy “Mouse Hunt.” He gained wider recognition with the 2002 โremake of “the โRing” and the subsequent “Pirates of the Caribbean” films. Heโฃ received an Oscar nomination in 2011 for “Rango,” and his other directorial credits includeโข “Theโฃ Mexican” (2001) and “The Weather Man” (2005). His 2013 film,”The lone Ranger,” was a critical and commercial disappointment.
